21.11.2003: Birkedal Hartmann Rouge

Birkedal Hartmann rouge fra Navarra.

The idea, with this wine, was to offer a good red wine under 80 NKr. The high prices on good table wine in France these last years has made it impossible to deliver a decent bottle of french red wine under 1.75 euro. Therefore when we found this Navarra wine after searching during 8 months, we knew that we could finally set our name on this bottle even though it wasn't a french wine. Blendings were made and the result appeared to be suprisingly good.

The grapes varieties are current of Navarra wines, 80% Garnacha, 20% Tempranillo. Deep red. Full and heavy with an "à la Rhône" wine pepper flavour. Long in mouth with a plaisant after taste. For a wine of this price, one can point out the quality of the cork and ? without forgetting the use of bronze gold color on the label. All this to make sure that the consumer can offer to his guests a quality product along a high class bottle.

Birkedal Hartmann Rouge has to be appreciated for its taste and presentation as well as its price which is the lowest in the Vinmonopole for the Navarra wines.

A rich and pleasant red wine, which combine with most dishes. This wine is perfekt with venison, meat and even oysters. The label is the one used, in 1903, by my great grandfather Halfdan Borkedal Hartmann.

Birkedal Hartmann, Spania, Navarra, B41947, kr 79,00 / 75 cl.

Søtlig, bringebæraktig duft med snev av papaya og appelsinsødme. Saftig smak med et varmt preg, vinen gir et litt for søtlig totalinntrykk.
