22.11.2003: 4. Ivan Birkedal Hartmann

Ivan had a pilot and a military background and even though he had no intention to become a wine and cognac trader his father talked him into joining the family company. Ivan was very active in the business travelling around the world. At his fathers death, he was appointed Norwegian Consul. He was married to Aud Nordmo from the North of Norway. She was the first norwegian women to pass the airplane pilot exam after the war. They had two children , Bente Elizabeth, born in 1951 in Oslo and Kim, born in 1955 in Målselv. Bente lived in France most of her life but have lately moved to Norway. Kim, fourth generation in the family business, lives in Bordeaux after having lived in Norway for ten years and Marocco for a couple of years.
